Abstract

Based on the misconstruction and inconsistent definition existed in the literature toward Taiwan-China economic interaction, and on the low external validaty when western-based theory explains the Taiwanese-Chinese cases, this study attempts to build a valid model toward Taiwan-China industrial interaction in accordance with literature. The model this study built contains four constructs: (1) Learning Orientation; (2) Cultivation Orientation; (3) Utilization Orientation and, (4) Cooperation Orientation. After 103-respondent questionnaire survey and statistical test (such as LISREL), this study confirms the four-construct model is valid in convergence and discriminance. This study also classifies the sample to four type, and finds that most Taiwanese-owned firms "deeply root" in China. Finally, this study investigates the relationship between the industrial interaction and operation performance in China.
