Abstract

The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationships among performance of MIS department, the morale of MIS staff and the different roles that MIS plays, 96 organizations have been surveyed. Factor analysis and path analysis are utilized in this study to test and examine the relationships among above factors. The results indicate that the different roles MIS have played (e.g., user-service role, goal-support role, etc.) have significant impact on MIS department's morale and performance, and the position of MIS on the organization also have influence on performance of MIS the relationship between morale and the performance of MIS is not found significant.
