assessment model, and improved the efficiency of research by providing the final factor
weights. This study may also assist researchers in clarifying and simplifying supply chain
risk dimensions and provides guidelines for understanding internal and external
dependencies and their complex relationships. Actual case studies demonstrated that
individual supplier risk assessment should also involve considering the risk value and
individual value at risk as well as the total risk value to determine their strengths and
weaknesses.
This study enables enterprises to build a supply chain risk evaluation model and
apply limited resources to manage and control key risks. Thus, complex technical
information becomes easy for the various management units of an organization to use.
Thus, consensus on the suppliers for individual risk items can be easily achieved, and
problems related to core resources can be resolved. In particular, this study emphasizes
cooperation between Chinese suppliers and Taiwanese manufacturers for minimizing
problems associated with supply chain risk. Although this research was limited to
automobile manufacturers, the evaluation model proposed in this study can be used by
other manufacturers that procure goods from China by adjusting the assessment model
according to their needs.
