To facilitate the interaction among academics in the fields of accounting and finance, NTU Management Review and Journal of Accounting Review jointly organized the "2019 Frontiers in Accounting and Finance Conference". Professor Rong-Ruey Duh, Professor Wu-Chun Chi, Professor Anne Wu, Professor Ming-Chin Chen, Professor Chia-Ling Lee, Professor San-Lin Chung, and Professor Hsiou-Wei Lin, echoing Professor Shu-Cheng Steve Chi’s proposal, began planning and coordinating tasks as early as the beginning of the year 2019. These eight chief editors, after an anonymous initial screening and peer review, invited authors of ten papers to participate in the event on Nov. 30 at the College of Management, National Taiwan University. During the conference, Professor Shing-Yang Hu, Dean of the College of Management, was invited to give an opening speech. Professor Ting-Wong Cheng, Chair Professor at the College of Commerce, National Cheng Chi University, was also invited to give a talk titled "The Challenges of Accounting in the Face of the New Economy", in which Professor Cheng delved into and analyzed the challenges that traditional financial accounting would encounter as it confronts the new economy. The conference papers not only tackle the impact on management as a result of changes in the high technology environment, but also introduce new viewpoints concerning management and new methods for evaluating the benefits. To facilitate discussion on these topics, dozens of academics, government officials, and experts as well as professionals from various industries gathered at two conference venues, to exchange opinions and ideas. They aimed to use the new ideas and points of view generated to influence academia, government, and industry.
