臺大管理論叢 NTU Management Review VOL.29 NO.1

management in Taiwan, the Foundation has sponsored the Best Master’s Thesis Award since 1996. Several winning papers have been published in NTU Management Review since then. Introduction of this Edition The following is a brief introduction of the seven articles that follow the leading article by Professor Allaudeen Hameed. In regards to the two operations management articles, the one by Sheu and Kuo looks into a research model to address the causal relationships among regime intervention, supplier hoarding intention and its antecedents in a post-disaster grain supply chain. Authors argue that regime intervention can moderate the relationship among supplier hoarding intention, supplier’s belief of future earnings, and supplier’s attitude towards risk reduction of disruption after a disaster. The study applies structural equation modeling (SEM) to test the research model. Their findings show that regime intervention mitigates the positive effect of supplier belief in future earnings on supplier hoarding intention. Also, regime intervention increases the negative effect of supplier attitude towards risk reduction post disaster on supplier hoarding intention. The other article by Chang, Yang, and Wu, develops reliable and valid criteria for evaluating vendors who outsource business intelligence. They first determined possible criteria for vendor selection. After that, the authors applied resource-based theory, resource dependence theory, transaction cost theory, agency cost theory, social exchange theory, the service science perspective, and business intelligence theory to strengthen the criteria. Finally, the selection criteria were examined through a modified Delphi method, followed by determining the weight of each criteria using the analytic hierarchy process. Their results provided four dimensions and 35 criteria, which can strengthen the vendor selection process to realize higher performance and greater satisfaction.
