臺大管理論叢 NTU Management Review VOL.30 NO.3

173 NTU Management Review Vol. 30 No. 3 Dec. 2020 confidence intervals. We also calculate the bias-corrected and accelerated (BCa) bootstrap confidence interval for each parameter in the mediation model. 3. Findings Main findings are as follows: (1) Sizes of interlocking directorate network, network structural holes, and network centrality all have positive effects on technological diversity. (2) Related technological diversity and unrelated technological diversity both have positive effects on innovation performance. (3) Sizes of interlocking directorate network, network structure holes, and network centrality impact innovation performance via technological diversity. This study also finds that three directors’ network characteristics network sizes, network centrality, and network structural holes, these three directors’ network characteristics all significantly and positively correlate with one-year and two-year lagged indirect effects of innovation performance. These results are the same as those of the main analysis and indicate that the three directors’ network characteristics have indirect effects on innovation performance through technological diversity, and that the effect can last for two years. Furthermore, according to the results of our additional analysis, when directors are externally connected to different industries or different business groups, the network sizes of these directors, and their bridging roles or core positions help improve technological diversity, and thus further enhance innovation performance. 4. Research Limitations 4.1 Research Limitations 4.1.1 This research focuses on innovation performance of listed electronics industry in Taiwan, but innovation performance is also very important for other industries, such as biotechnology, Medical industry, etc. We suggest making further analyses and comparisons to other industries that also put a high value on innovation performance in the future. In addition, Taiwan has the majority of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Many SMEs have considerable strength but are not listed. Listed companies have many boards of directors serving in SMEs, too. Therefore, we suggest that SMEs be included in the comparative analysis to allow a more comprehensive review of the interlocking directorate network relationships.
