Corruption and Economic Growth: The Effects of Business Ethics 124 effects of business ethics in a microscopic perspective, such as how business ethics influence corporate performance, brand equity, strategic achievement, and organizational commitment. In this study, the effects of business ethics on economic growth are discussed from a macroscopic view. There is limited research in this regard, making this study imperative. Previous literature has pointed out that business ethics may reduce corruption. Strengthening private institutions is another feasible channel to reduce corruption. This paper collects cross-country data to examine whether business ethics has a moderating effect on the relationship between corruption and economic growth from a macroscopic perspective. At present, there is no known published study similar to this study, so this exists an incremental contribution academically. As for practical contributions, the empirical results obtained in this study may be used as a reference for establishing anti- corruption measures.
