"Innovation in Taiwan", edited by Professor Shih-Chang Hung of National Tsing Hua University in Taiwan, explores how innovation is important to firm growth and economic development, particularly for countries such as Taiwan, a small island with limited resources. Literature on national innovation systems have documented how risk-taking entrepreneurs aspire to innovate against competitive pressures and established giants, as well as how high-tech industries began to emerge on the island in the 1980s. Presently, innovation is expected to be more important than ever. Professor Hung has selected six papers that delve into the topic of innovation study.
